Questia Media Appoints Industry Veteran Linda Bessmer as Vice President of Sales

Houston (March 14, 2005) — Questia Media, Inc., the world’s largest online academic library and research source, has named Linda Bessmer as its vice president of sales. A 20-year veteran of secondary school education and sales, Bessmer is responsible for overseeing Questia’s institutional sales strategy to secondary schools.

Questia’s 21st century library consists of a growing collection of 56,000 full-text books and nearly one million journal, magazine and newspaper articles, as well as a comprehensive suite of research tools. The company provides users with access to academically vetted content focused on the specific needs of high school students.

Prior to joining Questia, Bessmer served as national vice president of field sales at Renaissance Learning, Inc. In that position, she was responsible for the hiring and training of a national sales force, developing a forecasting and sales management reporting system, and developing and managing the company’s operational guidelines.

Bessmer’s background also includes five years as a reference librarian, and sales management positions at several education and technology companies including CompassLearning, bigchalk.com, Computer Curriculum Corp., and Education Systems Corporation/Jostens Learning Corp.
